This is an announcement from the teachers:
The 5th grade teachers have noticed many 5th grade students at school far before supervision begins in the morning. Students are not allowed on campus before 8:15 unless they are in Schoolmates. It seems unsafe to allow students to wander around unsupervised. Students who are on campus before 8:15 will be sent to Schoolmates by the Havens staff. |

Next Wednesday, January 18th and the following Wednesday, January 25th we will be traveling to The Legion of Honor in San Francisco for a program called Poets in the Galleries. We will be leaving at 8:30 AM and returning before lunch. We will be looking at works of art and then writing poetry to capture the feeling of the art.
We still need a couple of drivers. Please send me a note if you would like to drive. |

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
Our OLSAT answer sheets have finally arrived and we'll be administering the OLSAT assessment next week. While this assessment is used to determine GATE eligibility, we'll focus our discussion with students on the classroom differentiation that occurs as a result of GATE identification. We'll be speaking with students about the OLSAT being another measure to help us know how to make curriculum decisions to support student learning. Those students that were identified GATE last school year or who have opted out of the assessment will be provided alternate activities.
Regards,
Tery Susman

As we complete a class portfolio for the year, after your child brings home a test, they need to return it to class, so they can put in their binder in preparation for the student-led conferences in November. |
